Page Dormers

This 700-square-foot flat was strategically remodeled to maximize the unusable space at the edges of the gable ceiling, while minimizing the structural impact on the neighbors below. Two new dormers increased the size of the two bedrooms; a third dormer allowed for the addition of a new bathroom.

Since the flat was on the fourth floor of the building, direct access to the yard was impossible. Our solution was to carve out part of the roof, adding a small roof deck to connect easily with the outdoors. The deck also illuminated the center of the flat, making it feel lighter and more spacious.
